ESPRIT Annual Conference and Drinks Reception

The first annual conference of the ESPRIT project will be held at the Ford College near the world class sports training facilities at the Loughborough University. The aim of the conference is to showcase the progress and the latest developments of pervasive sensing technologies for sports training. In addition, parallel workshops will be organised by experts in sports performance, biomechanics, pervasive sensing and related technologies.

MICCAI 2009
 
MICCAI 2009, the 12th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, will be held from 20th to 24th September 2009 in London, UK. MICCAI attracts annually world leading scientists, engineers and clinicians from a wide range of disciplines associated with medical imaging and computer assisted surgery.
    
The venue for MICCAI 2009 is to be located at the main campus of Imperial College London in South Kensington. It is situated in one of London's finest locations, adjacent to landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall and the Science, Natural History and Victoria & Albert Museums, with Harrods and Hyde Park just a short walk away.

Hounsfield Lecture 2008
The annual Hounsfield memorial lecture was instituted by the Imperial College Imaging Sciences Centre in 2004 to recognise the contribution of Sir Godfrey Hounsfield in the development of medical imaging systems. The lecture has been designed as an opportunity for a world leading researcher in imaging science to review the latest developments in imaging science.  This is supported by a range of posters produced by imaging related research groups in Imperial which demonstrate the scope and depth of research undertaken in this institution.

The lecture this year will be held on 10th March 2008, and the lecturer will be Prof Rakesh Jain,Andrew Werk Cook Professor of Tumor Biology at the Edwin L. Steele Laboratory for Tumor Biology, Department of Radiation Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, entitled;

Normalizing tumor vessels and microenvironment to treat cancer

The 2008 Hounsfield lecture will be accompanied by a Poster Competition.  This is open to all researchers at Imperial College who are involved in imaging research, and has been a showcase for the high class of research undertaken in the college. (Details...)

Third Hounsfield Memorial Lecture - 27 February 2007
The third Hounsfield Memorial lecture will take place on 27th February 2007. 

 It will be held at the Sir Alexander Fleming building, with a reception at and the lecture starting at .

The lecturer is Prof Peter Hunter of University of Auckland, New Zealand.   It is entitled Medical imaging and computational physiology: the IUPS Physiome Project.

The lecture is accompanied by a poster competition showing imaging related research projects from across Imperial  College.
